Guide

What to decide before you enquire

Pieces and categories

List the diamond necklaces you need: categories, styles, sizes and how many designs. Mark which pieces are core and which are optional.

Stones

Note diamond shape, size range, colour and clarity targets, and any fancy coloured diamonds or gemstones such as emerald, ruby or sapphire.

Metal and finish

Choose metal colours and purity, finish, and any hallmark or stamping your market requires.

Quantities and timing

Give realistic quantities per design and the date the pieces must reach you, including any fair or season deadline.

Sourcing checklist

Checklist for diamond necklaces

  • Ask which diamonds carry GIA or IGI certificates and how certificate copies are shared.
  • Confirm metal purity and hallmarking for the markets where you sell.
  • Agree on references: sketches, photos or existing pieces the atelier should follow.
  • Ask how samples, approvals and changes are handled before production.
  • Clarify packing, shipping and import documents for your country.
  • Record who approves designs, stones and final pieces on your side.
